The European Court of Human Rights has accepted the application of the case Yervand Naltakyan and Others v. Armenia
01.04.2021The European Court of Human Rights has accepted the application brought before the Court back in 2012 by applicants of the case Yervand Naltakyan and Others v. Armenia, no. 47448/12. This case concerns the protection of property rights of numerous residents of the Artavaz and Pyunik communities of the marz of Kotayk, Armenia. It is worth recalling that, by Decision 241-N of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, those lands were, under the pretext of overriding public interest, forcibly alienated to “A&M RARE” LLC, with the objective of building a water bottling plant. The interests of the applicants are represented by “Path of Law” NGO Co-founder Siranush Sahakyan, and attorneys Gor Margaryan and Mariam Ghulyan. In the event of a positive outcome of the case, it is expected that violations of property rights of the applications will be recorded, with a fair compensation of those violations.
