About the Hearings on the prospects of applying transitional justice instruments in the RA

On May 13, the President of the National Assembly announced that today, on  May 24, parliamentary hearings will be held about the  “Perspectives for the Use of Transitional Justice Instruments in Armenia”. It was stated that “for the best solution the most widely inclusive discussions are of prerequisite”.

Meanwhile, the ruling political party has already made its decision before these widespread discussions, and roughly violated the constitutional requirement for the separation and balancing of the powers to initiate a process of dissolution of the judiciary in Armenia.

In this case, the “Path of Law” NGO considers the hearings to be a called to created the illusion of transparency and inclusiveness for the decisions that were made in advance.

Based on the statement mentioned above, we will not participate in parliamentary hearings, and we will use our professional potential in other formats. We will additionally inform the public about them.
